I’m going to let you in on a little secret…you CAN run your own ads, my friend! Creating a Facebook Ad can seem so overwhelming and scary, trust me I get it! I had to learn how to use the Ads Manager before I started Ads Uncorked and fast forward a few years and now Facebook ads are my jam! You can learn how to run your own Facebook ads like a pro too! Let’s talk about some things you need to know and how you can get started running your own Facebook Ads effectively.

1.Determine your end goal for your ad

Think about these questions:

  • Do you want folks to submit a contact form on your website?
  • Do you want to increase your engagement on social media?
  • Do you need to grow your email list or sell a product?

These are all questions you can ask yourself to determine what you want to get out of your ad.

2. Set aside money for testing

Yes, I said it…testing! You have to test out what works best with your ads. You don’t want to throw a ton of money at an ad you THINK will perform well. You want to put money toward the Facebook ads you KNOW will perform well based on the testing you’ve done. Your business deserves the investment so that it can continue to grow and thrive!

3. Come up with audiences you want to test out

You need to try out multiple audiences (think at least 2-3) so you can determine which audience is responding the best to your ad and your offer so that you can pivot your ad spend to that audience so you are truly getting the most for your ad spend money!

4. Gather all of your ad assets

This includes collecting any images, videos, and graphics that you may want to use in an ad and putting them all in one place so you have visuals to choose from. Remember how we decided to test out audiences? The same goes for visuals too!

PRO TIP: Create graphics that are specific for stories. You have the ability to change out the image for each ad placement so you can include story graphics that are the correct aspect ratio for stories. You want it to fill the entire frame your audience is seeing!

5. Make sure that the Facebook Pixel is installed on your website!

Friends, this is soooo important and because I know how important it is and how overwhelming it can be, I have created an absolutely FREE Facebook Pixel Guide to walk you step-by-step to getting this vital piece of code installed on your website so you can start rocking your Facebook ads efficiently!
